In this course,we explore the importance of attachment theory to the development of life-long secure attachment relationships. We will review research related to attachment and the brain development and define an understanding of attachment based upon our primary, secondary and tertiary attachment figures. We will review how parent-child joyful exciting play and nurturing calming play interactions are cultivated to enhance the attachment relationship. The importance of imagination and fantasy to memory and the development of internal working models is highlighted. Ultimately you will understand how these components of play are imbedded within the FirstPlay Kinesthetic Storytelling® model.

The three-part Somatic Storytelling series is 37.5 hours of training in all three Levels of the Somatic Storytelling series. After completing the training, contact Dr. Courtney to schedule individual or group consultation sessions to review the material and demonstrate competency in the techniques.
