In this video interview,  Yael Livneh introduces participants to her technique of Water Play Therapy.  Water Play Therapy (WPT) is an innovative therapy technique in which water is the main therapeutic medium. Participants will understand the development and creation of this technique and the materials needed to implement. Yael discussed what types of children this technique can be used for and how to use water play therapy to assist with treatment plan goals. 

Learning Objectives:

1. Briefly explain the history and development of Water Play Therapy and how it can be implemented in a play therapy setting. 

2. Learn the basics of using the Water Play Therapy techniques in your play therapy practice including materials needed and essential components of the technique. 

3. Describe the types of clients and presenting problems that are best suited for the water play therapy techniques. 

Guest Speaker Yael Linveh, MA, PhD Candidate

Yael Livneh, MA, and PhD candidate who lives in Israel. Yael has developed a form of art therapy called Water Play Therapy (W.P.T.) and for the past 17 years has practiced expressive therapy (Inter Modality approach). Yael also works as a Theater Director and her various career tracks supplement her overall approach.She conducts workshops at hospitals and universities where her W.P.T. method is being widely adopted. In her private clinic she treats children with emotional difficulties. She also produces and conducts expressive art therapy workshops with communities in Africa where she also combined W.P.T treating trauma cases.Jennifer Taylor Play Therapy Services is an Approved Provider with the Association for Play Therapy. (APT Approved Provider 12-331).  Play therapy credit available to mental health professionals only as listed in each course description.  Courses that do not qualify for play therapy credit are clearly listed. Jennifer Taylor has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider ACEP No. 6928.  Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly marked.  Jennifer Taylor is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
