In this 1.5 hour recorded workshop, you will learn strategies to employ to complete a successful 90 minute play therapy intake. The parent intake session could be the most important session you will conduct in the process of play therapy.
What you ask and what you say in the initial parent intake session is critically important for case conceptualization, treatment planning and establishing important boundaries, policies and protocols.
These first 2 sessions are when you gather crucially important information for assessment and subsequent planning purposes.
After taking this training, participants will be able to achieve the following learning objectives:
1. Explain how to establish initial rapport with parents and set parents as ease during the play therapy intake process.
2. List 5 valuable questions to ask during the initial play therapy intake process to gather history and systemic information critically important to your plan for treatment
3. Describe how to note and interpret non-verbal communication during the play therapy intake process.
Includes two sample forms to use in the Play Therapy Intake Session.
