In this 4 hour webinar we will examine the therapeutic power of play when working with family systems. Based upon a family systems theoretical model, a prescriptive play therapy approach will be introduced as a way of determining appropriate timing and application for a variety of directive play-based interventions with the whole family in session as well as with dyadic therapy sessions. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the theoretical basis for family systems therapy and how play based interventions can be integrated.
  2. Explain three reasons and ways to utilize prescriptive play therapy in the process of treatment planning for helping families.
  3. List 15 play therapy interventions that can be used with families in both whole family sessions and dyadic sessions.
  4. Apply theoretical basis and specific interventions to case examples in developing a treatment plan.

Instructor Lynn Louise Wonders, LPC, RPT-S
