Course Description:


Through a combination of instructive and interactive activities, participants will gain an understanding of the multiple and complex roles of the play therapy supervisor. This webinar focuses on the nuanced role of providing play therapy supervision. Participants will be immersed in the process of play therapy supervision, with authentic learning experiences. Play therapy supervisors will identify how to titrate the multifaceted roles they have in supervision as when their supervisees are providing services to children.


Objectives:


By the end of this course participants are able to: 

1) identify three unique features of play therapy supervision; 

2) describe play therapy informed techniques suitable for use in supervision; and 

3) describe a minimum of three specific skills for providing feedback to play therapy supervisees.

Instructor Jodi Mullen, PhD, LMHC, NCC, RPT-S, CCPT-S

Dr. Jodi Mullen is a professor at SUNY Oswego in the Counseling & Psychological Services Department. She primarily teaches in the Mental Health Counseling Program. She is the director of Integrative Counseling Services, with several offices in Central New York. Dr. Mullen is an international speaker, author, credentialed play therapist and play therapy supervisor. Dr. Mullen has over 30 years in the field of counseling. She has authored books on play therapy, counseling children and adolescents, supervision, grief counseling and parenting. Dr. Mullen was the 2008 recipient of the Key Award for Professional Training & Education through the Association for Play Therapy. She is the proud Momma of Leah & Andrew.
