In her work as a supervisor, Dr. Mullen finds that the most prevalent and pervasive questions are centered on parent consultation. In this short and rich webinar, she, with her colleague Joe Perez, explores the questions that other play therapists have asked. Both presenters deconstruct the challenges other play therapists face and offer practical and direct ways of handling these sometimes tough conversations, ranging from challenges with divorce, challenges with parents who do not understand play therapy, challenges with resistant parents, and more!
1) Develop knowledge and practical steps for addressing challenging questions from the parents of kids you work with
2) Build confidence and strategies for approaching challenging play and translating that into consultation dialogue
3) Identify the challenges presented in separation and divorce situations, and find ways to address the needs of the family
