Course Description:

Older children and adolescents are not too old for play therapy. Play therapy can be tweaked and augmented to create developmentally well-suited interventions for kids who are too old for traditional play therapy. In this webinar, participants will learn how to adapt basic play therapy skills to engage pre-adolescents and adolescents in play therapy. Developmental and cultural issues relevant with these kids will be addressed and many practical and dynamic interventions will be demonstrated.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
1) Identify three ways to adapt play therapy to pre-adolescents and adolescents.
2) Describe play therapy techniques suitable to pre-adolescents and adolescents.
3) Create play therapy interventions based on the developmental and emotional needs of the client.
