Course description
APT credits available for this course are: 1 hour theory | 1 hour skills and methods
This 2 hour workshop provides training on the medical/traditional AND the alternative perspectives on the diagnosis of ADHD for children as well as specific play therapy interventions that can be used in helping child clients who have this diagnosis or display ADHD symptoms.
After taking this training, participants will be able to achieve the following learning objectives:
1. Define the clinical definition of ADHD and identify the symptoms in child clients.
2. Describe differentiating diagnoses and identify what other issues ADHD symptoms may point toward important to recognize in the context of delivering play therapy services
3. Describe how to utilize play therapy interventions to assist clients with ADHD or ADHD symptoms using at least 10 facilitative play-based techniques.
Instructor

Lynn Louise Wonders is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, early childhood specialist and parenting coach.
She is the founder and director of Wonders Counseling Services, LLC, an APT-Approved Provider for play therapy continuing education offering clinical services, play therapy supervision and training as well as professional mentoring for therapists developing a career in play therapy.
