Course description

This 2 hour webinar looks at the use of play therapy interventions with girls ages 10-12. They are no longer little girls but they’re not quite adolescents and this developmental stage can require a special playful approach in order to build the all-important rapport between therapists and child and develop a play therapy treatment plan that will help girls this age address and work through the issues causing them difficulties.

After taking this training, participants will be able to achieve the following learning objectives:

1. Describe the developmental stage of this window between younger childhood and adolescence and how to build rapport, assess and develop a play therapy treatment plan specifically for girls age 10-12.

2. List 10 play therapy interventions that are generally very effective with “tween girls.

3. Explain how to involve parents in the course of a play therapy course of treatment and how to provide parents with helpful psycho-education and parenting support.
