Course Description:

As children use toys to express themselves in play therapy, supervisors can utilize the experiential tools presented for symbolic language. Dr. Jodi Mullen & June Rickli will deconstruct the play therapy supervisory relationship, illustrating how experiential tools can expand the traditional framework of supervision. Through a combination of instructive and interactive activities, participants will gain an understanding of the multiple and complex roles of the play therapy supervisor. They will introduce, define and demonstrate numerous tools and techniques, from a wide variety of theoretical perspectives that can all be used to expand the didactic framework of traditional supervision.

Participants will have a first-hand opportunity to grasp how these experiential tools help to create a symbolic language of expression that can strengthen and expand the processes of supervision, the practice of play therapy and the personal growth of the supervisee.
