Approved for 2 Play Therapy Non-Contact Hours (APT Approved Provider 12-331) | taught by Lynn Louise Wonders, LPC, CPCS, RPT-S, DCC

Course description

An  introduction to a child’s brain development and how a child’s behavior and expressions can be better understood and addressed with this understanding. This 2 hour webinar is an excellent first step to understanding the basics of the more complex field neuroscience in relation to treating children in play therapy. This course can be followed by co-led recorded webinars I’ve hosted called Brain Based Play Therapy  and Taming the Tiger.

Learning objectives:
  1. Participants will receive a basic understanding of brain development and brain function in babies, toddlers and young children.
  2. Participants will learn 3 easy play-based models for providing essential psycho-education to children, their parents and teachers in order to provide easy understanding of why a child may be struggling with behavioral concerns or emotional “melt-downs.”
  3. Participants will learn how to utilize both CCPT and facilitative play therapy to gain an understanding of what the child is experiencing and how that might be connected to brain development and functioning.
