Course Description:

This 2.5-hour recorded webinar, taught by Dr. Jodi Mullen and Jen Taylor, will explore how recording and reviewing your own play therapy sessions can be a powerful tool for professional growth. While watching yourself in session may initially feel uncomfortable, this practice fosters self-acceptance, highlights strengths, and reveals areas for improvement. Participants will learn how recorded session review enhances clinical skills, deepens therapeutic insight, and builds confidence. We will discuss common barriers, provide practical strategies for effective review, and offer guided exercises to help participants integrate this valuable practice into their professional development.

  1. Participants will examine how reviewing recorded play therapy sessions enhances self-awareness, professional growth, and therapeutic effectiveness.
  2. Participants will identify common barriers to self-review, including discomfort and self-criticism, and develop strategies to foster self-acceptance.

Instructor Jodi Mullen, PhD, LMHC, NCC, RPT-S, CCPT-Master

Dr. Jodi Mullen is a professor at SUNY Oswego in the Counseling & Psychological Services Department. She primarily teaches in the Mental Health Counseling Program. She is the director of Integrative Counseling Services, with several offices in Central New York. Dr. Mullen is an international speaker, author, credentialed play therapist and play therapy supervisor. Dr. Mullen has over 30 years in the field of counseling. She has authored books on play therapy, counseling children and adolescents, supervision, grief counseling and parenting. Dr. Mullen was the 2008 recipient of the Key Award for Professional Training & Education through the Association for Play Therapy. She is the proud Momma of Leah & Andrew.

Instructor Jen Taylor, LCSW, RPT-S

Jennifer Taylor is an LCSW and RPT-S with nearly 20 years experience in the field of social work. She is an EMDR Approved Consultant. She is a certified Journal to the Self Instructor.  Jennifer graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in 1999. She graduated from the Florida State University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work in 2005. Jennifer is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and Qualified Supervisor in Maryland and Florida.
